Magical piano - Dorota and Paweł Motyczyński

This year we can meet at the Golden Afternoon's location on Friday. On Friday's evening the right Golden Afternoon mood will be set for all of the Manor's guests by a piano concerto by Dorota and Paweł Motyczyński.

Dorota Motyczyńska – active pianist, graduate of Musical Academy in Katowice, where she got her honours degree in the class of prof. Zbigniew Raubo. Currently she is working on her doctor's degree in the same university supervised by prof. Wojciecha Świtała.
Her repertoire is very wide, includes especially pieces by Polish composers. In 2014 her debut album was released including pieces by F. Chopin and K. Szymanowski.
She gave concerts in Silesian Philharmonic, Wrocław Philharmonic, Niepołomice Castle and in places related to Fryderyk Chopin: in Żelazowa Wola Manor, Duszniki-Zdrój in F. Chopin Musuem in Warsaw and abroad in Italy, Germany, Spain, Slovakia, Estonia and France.
She performs also on historical instruments, she worked in the clavecin class of prof. Marek Topolowski and in the artistic piano class of mgr Katarzyna Drogosz. She performed at Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg and in the Historical Museum of Katowice.
She perfected her skills at master-classes with outstanding pedagogues, incl.: Anną Malikova, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Beatrice Berthold, Lee Kum Sing, Andrzej Jasiński, Aleksej Orłowiecki and Hubert Rutkowski.
She reached the finals of F. Chopin All-Polish Piano Contest in Warszawa, laureate of a special award at the International Piano Contest in Narwa, Estonia, laureate of the 3rd award in Silesian Piano Contest in Zabrze, 3rd award laureate of the FORUM PER TASTI International Piano Contest in Banska Bystrica in Slovakia, 2nd award laurete of "Ischia: International Piano Competition and 1st award laureate at the Halina and Ludwik Stefańscy Chopin Tournament in Kraków.
In years 2007 – 2009 she was a charge of the Domestic Fund for Children in 2009 – 2013 she received the Artistic Scholarship of the Mayor of Polkowice an in 2012/2013 academic year she received a scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education.

Paweł Motyczyński – participant of the XVII International Chopin Contest in Warszawa in 2015. In 2013 he graduated with honours in class of prof. Mirosław Herbowski form the Music Academy in Kraków. Currently he is a doctoral student in the same university.
He took part in the master-classes led by: Paul Badura-Skoda, Philippe Giusiano, Andrzej Jasiński, Kevin Kenner, Alicja Paleta-Bugaj, John Perry, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Zbigniew Raubo, Wojciech Świtała, Dang Thai-Son and Dina Yoffe.
He performed also as a solist on festival such as: "Chopin and his Europe" in Warszawa, "Musical Korzkiew", "Wawel at Dawn" in Kraków, "Over the Clouds" in Wiener Neustadt in Austria, "Piano Plage" in Ouistreham in France, 67th International Festival in Duszniki Zdrój. He performed in places such as: Royal Castle in Warszawa, Villa "Atma" in Zakopane, National Philharmonic, Kraków Philharmonic, NOSPR. He also performed abroad: in Austria, Finland, Germany, Holland, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary.
He is a laureate of the Special Award for the best performance of Karol Szymanowski piece at the VIII International Contest for Young Pianists "Arthur Rubinstein in memoriam" in Bydgoszcz, "Young Estrade", 43rd Festival of Polish piano music, XXVII All-Polish Festival of Musical Contests Laurates "Talent Week", 1st award in the 2nd Halina and Ludwik Stefańscy Chopin Tournament in Kraków. and 4th award at the 43rd Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Contest organized by the National Fryderyk Chopin Institute.
in years 2006 – 2008 he was a charge of the Domestic Fund for Children, in the academic year 2010/2011 he received the scholarship of Małopolska Fundacja Stypendialna "Sapere Auso", in 2011/2012 Scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and in 2012/2013 the Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
